Samantha Hoffman

I've always escaped into the far off places within my mind. Growing up with an alcoholic father, a good but troubled man, made this retreat a forced reprieve from an often tumultuous world. I have never had the feeling that both of my feet were firmly planted and grounded within the world around me. Instead, I always felt torn between this world and another that is forever trying to get my attention. Because of that, I began writing.

This Insanity Blog is my way of releasing errant thoughts from within my mind. These thoughts run the gamut from comical to serious - and all points in between.

I'm enormously appreciative of this life of mine, as topsy-turvy as it has been. I'm here, for one, and I almost wasn't. My son is here, and he almost wasn't. Those two things alone remind me that Fate isn't always  cruel. I believe in miracles, and the sudden wonderful shift for the better life can, at times, take. Thank you - each of you - for joining me on this ride. Life is a bit better, when shared. And I'm pleased to be sharing this ride with you.
